Reflection

We have learned a lot over the past 12 weeks. The sad thing is, I probably won't remember it, mainly because it changes. All the time. But while I do remember it I'll say that technology is important. If we didn't have technology there wouldn't be any advertising, media sharing, good communication, good education, and several other things that we need. And like I said before, it changes a lot. The last five years it hasn't changed much but over the past 10-15 years it has. Like from floppy discs to CDs and DVDs, and it is bound to change again into something else. We have flash drives and stuff but what will be next? I have no idea.

Next thing I am going to talk about is how we use technology. We use it for school, and personal use. For school, I just use it for research, lots of research, and review, and sometimes it's helpful to my teachers when I can email my essays or something on those lines. For personal use I use cameras, my laptop, tablets, game consoles, CELL PHONE, tvs, and other things like every day. All of them make my life easier. Thats what they're for and I will continue to use it the way I want to.

Lastly I will talk about Online A directly. I will probably use blogger to look at other people's blogs, I'm not sure I will have my own forever. I will use igoogle for google, the cute games and chatting.  That's just my opinion and it might change, so I'm not sure on a lot of them. Especially because most of them will be different in the next couple of years. The only one that is really good for life-long learning for me is igoogle because it's connectected to google and I will always use that for my research. I will probably never use delicious, podcasts, avatars, and gadgets. The one I really liked was blogging. I like to blog:) My least favorite was delicious. It is a tedious process that I won't EVER use again. It is the same thing over and over again, add a link, tag the link, add a link, tag it again! Plus I kept forgetting my username and password, so that frustrated me.

What I'm really trying to say is, I learned a lot, not much i'm going to use...

Opinions

Well, I used the sites of blabberize and voki. Both of them were interesting, although i think i liked voki a little better. It was more realistic and it was moving, whereas blabberize was just a picture, it reminded me of the nutcrackers. Where just the mouths move up and down. It was cool to use, I could probably use both of them for school. I could make them talk and then teach other people how they're important by using their picture, or by making a person that looks like them. I can't think of any other way to make it educational or how to use it in school besides making people laugh:)

Real copyright stories

A woman named Barbara Chase-Riboud tried to sue Stephen Spielberg for using her book as a movie without permission. She thinks that the movie Amistad was copied off of her book about a real-life mutiny aboard a slave ship off the coast of Cuba in 1839. She believed that DreamWorks’ script copied “themes, dialogue, characters, relationships, plots, scenes and fictional inventions” from her book Echo of Lions. There was no punishment because the court recognized that historical facts and basic character types are not protectable. So Chase-Riboud’s motion for summary judgment was denied.

Tracking Teresa

Teresa didn't really give out a lot of information but we could still find her. She said her real name in her username for the chat room, her age was assumed because of the site, plus she had a valid email that was available, and in her profile she said her brother's name. With that tiny amount of information we can figure out who and where she is. I personally have put out personal information, not always on purpose. Sometimes I lie about my age though. Oops, still not a good idea, I won't be doing that anymore. But I'm sure that everyone has said some personal information on the internet before, at least like their age, name, gender, or anything else. Finally, the most important thing to remember is COMMON SENSE.

COMMON SENSE = Safe happy people

Now this next story, I read online at netsmartz and it is about a girl that met a guy on a private chatroom. He said that he could take care of her and make things better in her life, and she believed it. She wasn't feeling good about what she was doing but she got a call from one of the other people the guy talked to on a chatroom and said that he was outside waiting for her. She left, and she was gone for two days. They were then found at a bus terminal and he was taken to prison for taking a minor over state lines. Now she knows how much trouble she is in because he can and probably will find her after he gets out. I find all that really scary. Leaving with a guy you have never met before? She could've been dead on the side of the road. Sad right? USE COMMON SENSE!

Netiquette!

Netiquette is what it sounds like, Internet Etiquette. It is being respectful on the Internet and remembering that they are people that you are interacting with. So you must follow any rules or guidelines while being on the web. It sounds really simple. So that is what Netiquette is.

TECHNOLOGY!!!

Well I just read about something AMAZING! Too bad I couldn't think of it. Well I read an article online that blew my mind (http://news.yahoo.com/photos/driverless-car-navigates-berlin-streets-1316520820-slideshow/#crsl=%252Fphotos%252Fdriverless-car-navigates-berlin-streets-1316520820-slideshow%252Fsaturday-sept-17-2011-photo-car-autonomos-labs-photo-102116344.html) You have to see it! It is about these German scientists who made a car that drives itself! They attatched a 360degree lazar on top of it and there is also a GPS and several sensors that monitor traffic. It drives all on its own! That includes turning, stopping, parking, and all steering! The driver still has to be behind the wheel for safety reasons but they don't have to do anything! This could eliminate all auto accidents! That also means no more drunk driving!

RSS feeds...

An RSS feed is a website that allows you to subscribe to their website or blog and it will send you the updates. Then you don't have to go onto all of them seperately to check them or update them which makes it extremely useful if you don't want to comment on all of them separately. I recently signed up for Bloglines (http://www.bloglines.com/) but I definitely don't like it as much as the Google Reader. Bloglines isn't as organized but I do like the colors and layout better. Its blue:)  That is all for today, see ya later!

About Delicous

Delicous, it is a social bookmarking site. I have one and I use it to save sites that I want to share. I don't use it often but i will eventually have to for my computer's class. I do think it is useful because you can find a lot of sites on other people's delicous accounts that can help you with algebra or tell you where to find awesome game sites. I am honestly too lazy to look them up in google so I can just find some on delicous! So that is what delicous is and how I use it.

Technology and Me!

I guess you could say I use technology a lot. From phones, laptops, tablets, to gaming systems, and ipods! Surprisingly, I don't use any sort of social networks, they bother me. I use my phone almost every minute of the day, just playing on my apps. Then my laptop is like 2 feet from my hands at all times when I'm home. Our family also shares a Galaxy tab, most of the time when i'm not on my laptop or my phone I am playing slice it on the tab. If I didn't have technology, I don't know what I would do.
